Getting started
What happens before I pay?

Share your website or listing, photos and boat details. We prepare your free mockup, you send one consolidated review, and we agree the scope, plan and written order before payment and launch. An enquiry creates no paid commitment.

How long does setup take?

We aim to show the first mockup in around seven business days after receiving complete usable content. We agree the launch date with you; missing content or additional requests can extend the timeline.

What does the founding offer include?

The standard one-time website setup fee is €199 for either rental plan. The first five accepted rental sites have that fee waived and pay only their monthly plan, with the same 12-month minimum. A spot is allocated when we both accept the written order.

Does it include a booking system?

The standard site collects enquiries and can link to a booking system you already use. A new booking engine, live availability calendar or complex integration is a separate project.

Lease or buy
What is the difference between renting and buying?

Renting provides a managed website licence, hosting, security and technical maintenance while the service is active. Monthly fees pay for that service; ownership does not transfer automatically. Buying is a separate purchase of the agreed files and a perpetual right to host and modify the supplied version, subject to the listed asset licences.

Is there a setup fee?

Both rental plans normally have a one-time €199 website setup fee, waived for the first five accepted rental sites. It pays for setup work and is not a refundable security deposit or part-payment towards ownership. There is no additional standard rental setup fee on an outright purchase.

What is the minimum term?

Rental has a 12-month minimum from the agreed go-live date. It then rolls monthly with 30 calendar days’ written notice. You may give notice during month 12 for an end date at or after the end of the minimum term.

What if I leave during the first 12 months?

If you end the rental early without buying, an early-exit amount applies based on the remaining base website fees, less direct costs avoided and any required legal adjustments. We itemise it without double charging for the same period. If you complete a buyout instead, it replaces the remaining website minimum-term payments. Remedies for unresolved material failure by us remain available.

Can I buy the website later?

Yes, while your rental is active. The original purchase reference is fixed in your order: normally €2,500 Single Boat or €4,000 Fleet. Your credit is 50% of cleared base website rental fees paid, capped at 50% of that original price. Setup, language add-ons, marketing, ad spend, extra work, VAT and exit charges do not earn credit.

What would a buyout cost after 12 months?

Single Boat: 12 × €49 = €588 paid; 50% credit = €294; €2,500 − €294 = €2,206 to buy. Fleet: 12 × €99 = €1,188 paid; credit = €594; €4,000 − €594 = €3,406 to buy. The credit is only applied if you choose and complete the separate purchase.

What is included in a purchased-site handover?

The agreed website files, permitted content/assets, licence information and basic setup documentation, including how to connect the enquiry forms on new hosting. Your new host or developer configures and tests the site and forms. Our shared provider accounts are not transferred. Migration and ongoing support are outside the purchase; optional help is quoted at €40/hour.

What happens when the rental ends?

Unless you have completed a purchase, the hosted website is taken down and its working files removed at the agreed end date. You keep your domain and supplied content. Arrange any content or enquiry-data export before that date; there is no post-exit recovery or buyout window. Backup expiry and required legal records follow the documented retention arrangements.

Do you charge VAT?

Doxa Collection Ltd is not currently VAT registered and no UK VAT is currently charged. Prices exclude any VAT that becomes applicable. Your local tax obligations may still apply; the written order and invoice record the applicable treatment.

What is included and ongoing support
What does the monthly website include?

Your agreed template, branding, approved English content, boat and trip details, gallery, reviews, maps, FAQs, basic technical search setup and enquiry features. Both rental plans include hosting, SSL/security and technical maintenance. Ongoing SEO and ads are optional services.

What does one review round cover?

One consolidated list of corrections to text, supplied images and agreed boat/trip information within the selected template. Extra review rounds are €80 each. New pages, redesign and other larger changes are quoted at €40/hour before work starts. Fixing a mistake we introduced does not use another paid review round.

How are changes handled after launch?

Email us with the changes you need. Single Boat content changes are quoted separately. Fleet includes up to 30 minutes of routine changes each month, with priority handling and no rollover. Larger work is quoted and agreed before starting.

How does the design refresh work?

After 24 active rental months, we move your approved existing content into one of our current templates without another full build fee. It is one template refresh within your plan, with one consolidated review; new functionality and further or earlier refreshes are separately quoted.

Can I add Greek, Italian or another language?

Yes. For a standard Single Boat site, additional languages start from €199 setup per language plus €10/month per language. Larger sites receive a fixed quote. Setup covers translation, multilingual pages, navigation and checks, with your approval before launch. Ongoing support maintains those versions within your agreed website support allowance; new pages, substantial rewrites and translated SEO articles are separately quoted.

Who handles the domain and email?

You bring a domain in an account you control and pay its registration and renewals. We help guide the DNS connection. We do not set up, host or migrate business email; arrange your mailbox separately, for example through Gmail or Google Workspace.

Do I need a new website to use SEO or ads?

No. We can review a suitable existing site. SEO starts from €250/month plus €199 one-time onboarding, with a three-month initial minimum. The first month totals €449. Alternatively, six months of SEO starts from €1,400 paid in full upfront, with onboarding included. Google Ads starts from €150/month plus €299 one-time setup; the first month totals €449, with advertising spend additional. See the service pages for the scope and options.

What if I have more than five boats?

The Digital Deckhand can scope a separate project for larger fleets, custom branding, booking systems or integrations.
